Worship is an integral part of The Call to Discipleship. It is imperative that all sessions begin with some form of worship prior to viewing the teaching. Whether it is singing, listening to a song on a CD, or reading a devotion, time dedicated to preparing the heart to receive the teaching from God’s Word is essential.
Because of the shed blood of Jesus, we are invited into the throne room of God Himself. This is not something to be taken lightly. How do you feel when you are trying to talk to a child while he’s playing a video game or watching television and only half listening to what you’re saying? That’s what can happen when we approach Scripture without centering our minds on the Lord God first. We must give Him our full attention to get His full message for us at that time. Encourage everyone to get there on time each week, leave all their baggage at the door, and carve out the moments before the teaching for an intimate encounter with their Creator.
