Before taking on any work for the Lord, it is imperative to seek Him and His will first and to cover in prayer all aspects of running the program. The Lord’s power is released through prayer. His provision, protection, and guidance become manifest through intentional, committed communion with Him on behalf of THE CALL TO DISCIPLESHIP.
Prayer teams create a warm, inviting, safe atmosphere for participants to come for prayer. The prayer teams normally consist of 2-3 people who have the gifts of faith, intercession and/or mercy. In a place set apart, the participants share their prayer requests with the team who will invite the Holy Spirit to attend to the needs of the person for whom they are praying.
Each small group should begin with prayer before discussing the lessons. At the end of the group ten to fifteen minutes should be set aside for prayer requests and prayer time within the group. Participants also commit to pray for the members of their group throughout the week.
