At a church in Pawleys Island, SC, The Call to Discipleship program began as Women in Discipleship in 1998 with 10 women. By God’s grace, three years later the participation had grown to over 600 men and women. The course was then videotaped and when released in the fall of 2001, the enrollment grew to thousands of people across the United States, encompassing all ages and many denominations. ARIEL/A Ministry of Proclamation, a not-for-profit corporation, was formed in 2001 to expand this remarkable outreach which is dedicated to the calling of a new generation to radical discipleship under the Lordship of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. We now are under Ariel’s umbrella operating by the name call2disciple, because we feel our one call is the call2disciple!
As the Lord has provided, other biblically-based series have been videotaped for distribution to continue the ongoing work of discipleship. To this growing list of resources have been added audio series, in cassette and CD formats, as well as books authored by Thaddeus and Erilynne Barnum. We are now implementing our new name call2disciple as we feel led that our primary call and your primary call is the call2disciple!

in one God, eternally existing in the Trinity of three persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
in the incarnation of God in the person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and offered Himself as a vicarious sacrifice for sin on the Cross. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. Through Him, all who come to Him by faith and repent of their sins, receive forgiveness through Christ’s atoning death on the Cross and live in newness of life through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. This new life of faith is to be marked by a joyful obedience to Jesus Christ, to God’s Word and to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the only infallible and authoritative Word of God and through it God still speaks to us today. It is the authority and standard by which we are to order our lives, express our faith, and function as a community.
that we are to live our lives to the praise of God’s glory, preach and teach the Gospel, bring people to faith in Jesus Christ and make disciples in a manner that expresses the loving and longing heart of God for all who are separated from Jesus Christ and His Church.
that every Christian is created for ministry, gifted for ministry and needed for ministry. We are, therefore, committed to equip, empower and release faithful believers to use their spiritual gifts to glorify God, bring others to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, to build up the Body of Christ, the Church, and to serve others through deeds of love and service.
“We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.”
Colossians 1:28
Calling a new generation to radical discipleship under the Lordship of Jesus Christ
ARIEL/A Ministry of Proclamation is a non-profit ministry dedicated to proclaiming the Word of God through a discipleship process that is available in various forms of media. The immensely popular The Call to Discipleship series and additional discipleship studies are available on videotape, DVD, audio cassette and CDs. Several topical books are offered as well. ARIEL/A Ministry of Proclamation operates under a Board of Directors whose members have committed to volunteering their time to this ministry.
This ministry’s Scriptural foundation is from the letter to the Colossians 1:28 – “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.” Our purpose is to proclaim the Good News of Christ to the world through the development of discipleship teachings that bring revelation through a deeper knowledge of and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
